Anonymous donor will match every dollar given, doubling the impact for Drug Court participants across New Hampshire

CONCORD, NH -- The Friends of New Hampshire Drug Courts is kicking off the launch of the Double the Hope Challenge, a limited-time fundraising campaign made possible by a $30,000 matching gift from an anonymous donor. Every dollar donated to the Friends during the campaign will be matched dollar for dollar, doubling the impact and helping more recovery court participants across the Granite State access the support they need to sustain their recovery.
"This matching gift is an extraordinary opportunity for our community to come together and double our impact," said Tony Naro, President of the Board of Directors. "Every dollar from your gift goes directly to helping someone in drug court access transportation, housing, job training, and critical healthcare needs."
New Hampshire has experienced one of the most severe substance misuse crises in the nation, with 4,679 overdose deaths recorded between 2014 and 2024. Drug Courts — specialized, treatment-focused programs operating in counties across the state — offer non-violent offenders an alternative to incarceration, pairing intensive treatment with judicial supervision to address the underlying addiction driving criminal behavior.
The Friends of NH Drug Courts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the first statewide drug court support organization in the nation, plays a critical role in ensuring participants can stay the course. Financial hardship — an inability to pay for car repairs, medical care, or basic necessities — is one of the most common reasons individuals struggle to complete recovery court programs. The Friends steps in where state funding cannot, providing direct grants to participants facing these barriers.
In 2024 alone, the organization distributed $140,957 through 297 individual grants, supporting participants with transportation, housing, health and dental care, and job training and education. Since expanding statewide in 2015, the Friends has distributed more than $400,000 in assistance to participants in New Hampshire's ten drug courts, Federal LASER Court, Sullivan County Family Treatment Court, and the Hillsborough County Young Adult Court.
During the campaign, every donation made through the Friends of NH Drug Courts' GiveButter page will be matched dollar for dollar by the anonymous donor until the $30,000 match is fully depleted. A gift of $50 becomes $100. A gift of $250 becomes $500. There is no minimum donation required to participate, and all contributions are tax-deductible.
The campaign will run until the matching funds are exhausted. Donors are encouraged to give early, as the match will close once the $30,000 threshold is reached.
