Dear Friends of New Hampshire Drug Courts,
Imagine a life transformed. A parent reunited with their children. A career rebuilt. A recommitment to a life free from substance use. These aren’t just stories — they’re the real outcomes of our statewide alternative treatment court programs.
In 2024, we’ve turned hope into action in ways we never have before. Over the past year, the Friends of NH Drug Courts supported participants with a record-setting 276 grants, providing $132,932 to help individuals across New Hampshire seeking recovery.
The grants issued in 2024 helped people in an alternative treatment court program secure housing, transportation to work and treatment, critical oral health care, training and education to secure employment, and offset costs associated with program barriers—providing funding for interview attire, children's car seats, glasses, license restoration, and more.
Each grant represents a lifeline, a second chance, a pathway out of addiction, and for everyone, a step towards making our communities safer and more prosperous.
The critical need for second chances was never more apparent than during our April screening event of The 50, an award-winning documentary, at the Nashua Center for the Arts. The film highlighted the incredible journey of 50 men who became certified substance abuse counselors while incarcerated.
While 2024 was groundbreaking for us in many ways, I’d like to bring one final thought to your attention. There are roughly 350 individuals in recovery court programs in New Hampshire at any given time. It’s our goal to be available to provide assistance to each and every grantee when they need us most, but we can’t do this without your financial support. Whether it is $25, $100, or more — your contribution makes a difference.
Your gift sends a message of belief. It declares that recovery is possible, and that every individual deserves the support and opportunity to rewrite their story.
This holiday season, will you help us continue this vital work?
Every donation, no matter the size, brings someone closer to recovery.
Together, we can change lives.
Sincerely,
Tony Naro, President
