CONCORD, N.H. (June 17, 2026) — Friends of New Hampshire Drug Courts (FNHDC) has been awarded a $6,591.79 Justice Grant from the New Hampshire Bar Foundation. The grant will support the organization's incentive grants program, which provides direct financial assistance to participants in New Hampshire's Drug Courts.

The funding helps cover the everyday costs that can stand between a participant and lasting recovery. Common requests include transportation, housing, health and dental care, food and clothing, and job training and education. For someone working hard in Drug Court, a single unexpected expense can mean the difference between staying on track and falling back, and these grants help remove that barrier quickly, with no strings attached and no judgment.

"We are grateful to the New Hampshire Bar Foundation for investing in the people working hardest to rebuild their lives," said Lara Saffo, President of Friends of New Hampshire Drug Courts. "A car repair, a utility bill, or the cost of job training can be the difference between staying in recovery and starting over. This grant helps us meet those moments with real support and dignity."

The need is significant, and the results are clear. A 2025 study by the JSI Research & Training Institute found that 82 percent of enrolled Drug Court participants had no subsequent conviction. Since 2015, FNHDC has distributed more than $400,000 in assistance to participants across New Hampshire's ten Drug Courts, the Federal LASER Court, the Sullivan County Family Treatment Court, and the Hillsborough County Young Adult Court.

The New Hampshire Bar Foundation's Justice Grants Program supports organizations advancing access to justice across the state, in keeping with the Foundation's mission of strengthening justice for all. FNHDC is grateful for the Foundation's support of its work.
